High Density Polyethylene PE100 Gas Pipes
High Density Polyethylene PE100 gas pipes in accordance with ISO4437 for transport of natural gas and suitable manufactured gas – Part 2:
PE100 is a PE quality, in which a MRS ≥ 10 MPa (20 °C; 50 years) is achieved. PE100 contains both short linear and longer, branched PE molecular chains (achieved by employing butene comonomers). It therefore has two peaks (so-called bimodality) in its distribution of molecular mass. In spite of a branching of its long chains, a high density is achieved as well as a favourable resistance to cracks and a high degree of stiffness. Important basic properties of PE are its high impact resistance.
